01 January 2002, 04:13 PM

el gatto
01 January 2002, 01:15 PM
I know it's kind of stupid, but why not make a prosthetic chin, he already has something on his chin, oh no!!! I got It, a prosthetic beard, that would be freaking original :D ...

well's just a idea ;)

01 January 2002, 01:18 PM

Krep Suzeth
01 January 2002, 10:54 AM
Thanks for your posts guys !

Ok. Here is knew pictures...
I'm still searching for my prosthetic part (where can it be ??? huhu!)
Thx for the beard idea el gatto. He is better like this (He is a sailor, so he can't shave every morning), but I prefer keep the face like this.

So guys, waiting for your comments...

01 January 2002, 11:13 AM
Wouhouh ! Good modelling and creativity !
The wheel is a great idea, but wouldn't it look better bigger ?

01 January 2002, 11:25 AM
ahah great details Eric! Maybe you should make the fore arms biggers to add a "popeye" mood to your character.. :D

01 January 2002, 12:41 PM
Hehe he's great man! He looks like a mutated duck pirate roaming the Chinese Sea the most, judging by the clothes and the sandal on his left foot!

And the wheel is just too cool to be that small! Very nice work!!! :D

01 January 2002, 02:35 PM
very nice ,,, :D i love the foot , great ,,,

The dwarf
01 January 2002, 03:34 PM

01 January 2002, 02:06 PM
:D Ok, ok, pascal, I post an update before the week end ! I was looking for a place to upload.

I've add a sword, because he may need to defend himself...
The "belt" (don't know the word :)) ) is not yet finished.
I have also to work on the back and I project to do something for is left arm .... huhu :D

So come guys, I'm waiting for your suggestions, and for your "poetry" epatnor ;).

01 January 2002, 02:28 PM

01 January 2002, 09:43 PM
Great concept !!....but i must admit i'm wondering how the heck he's gonna keep from falling when he walks.......with a wheel as a foot that will be a cool walk cycle to see
Maybe try to include a breaking mechanism

01 January 2002, 09:20 AM
great work !!!!

01 January 2002, 09:42 AM
Very good ! :)
I got a little question : "Comment le fourreau de son épée tiendra si l'épée n'est plus dedans ?" :D (I dunno wht is the translation of fourreau in English guys)

Krep Suzeth
01 January 2002, 09:55 AM
Ah ah !!!
Bonne question !

En tout cas, thanks for your posts guys, I' m very glad you liked it.

01 January 2002, 10:40 AM

Hi guys !
I've had some details... prosthetic arm, teeth, rings, ...

I think he's ready for skinning and materials !

Thx to all for your posts.

01 January 2002, 01:58 PM

Are you sure you don't want to work more on the sword holder ? ;)

01 January 2002, 05:38 PM
loove the little teeh huhuh now he look less friendly.. well .. hey!! he is a pirate no??

01 January 2002, 12:20 AM
Good Good Work!

01 January 2002, 05:56 AM
awesome work ,

man it'll be really hard to vote for just one person , there are so many great ones in the challange.

01 January 2002, 11:27 AM
maybe we should split the 3D section of the contest... realistic/cartoon ??? just a suggestion.. what do you think about it?

01 January 2002, 01:45 PM
I agree with you Pascal, good idea ! For the next challenges, we should also specify the style.

We should also separate 2D from 3D

01 January 2002, 02:03 PM
No, I think part of the amazing thing about this challenge is the totally different approaches people take, and the amazing results they come up with. Also it reflects the nature of the site, i.e. all inclusive, there aren't that many divisions set up, i.e.professional/student etc...

It would be a shame to lose any of that feeling.

call me an old romantic if you like!

(great work by the way)

Krep Suzeth
01 January 2002, 03:30 PM
What a nice idea Pascal !
Why not ?
For Joe and Paulc, I this Pascal means split categories at the end of the contest, not in the rules of the the contest.
So everybody is free to do what he wants to do, and there would be more winners :D :D :D One by category !

By the way, it would be nice that at the end CGChannel publish a page with pictures of all the characters.

So guys, what do you think about it ?

:D My english is frightenning me !

01 January 2002, 03:47 PM
I agree... more winners is good and a challenge gallery is better - being able to see them all in one go will be... 'educationaly gobsmacking' (3dluvr has a nice setup for gallerys)

inspiring work Krep, as are all the entries...

humbly Dragonius goes forth, cap inhand, for more good ideas and eye candy

01 January 2002, 07:50 PM
there sure is a sh*tload of talent on this board

Krep Suzeth
01 January 2002, 06:20 AM
Thanks guys for your posts.

That's true that there's a lot of talents on that board ! And how much brazilian artists !!!
I think this kind of challenge gives the opportunity to make a personnal work, share opinion with others, see so many good interpretations of the same subject. I like it. It's exciting to read posts, to see what people think about your job, to get knew ideas (thx Joebount for the beard ;) ).

Btw, I have yet some little things to do on my pirate !!!

01 January 2002, 07:45 PM
hehehe great pose :D :D :D

01 January 2002, 04:12 AM
krep your work is awesome, more 'character' in your character than any other on here....

01 January 2002, 04:41 AM
heheh you mentionned that too huh? This guy is really talented !! a bit lazy tho... He could have done tons of characters since I know him ... ouch.. now I'm dead!:D :D :D

Krep Suzeth
01 January 2002, 02:34 PM
Right, Pascal. You're dead.
But it's so true.... :(

Thx a lot edaddy ! It's a real pleasure to get post like this one.
I'm going to make a screenshot of your post !:D Thx.

Hello guys !

First, thanks to all for your comments and posts, it was really motivating !

Hurra ! For all challengers, it was very exiting to see all these nice works growing day after day.

Second, this is my contribution for the challenge. Of course I 'll be happy if anybody vote for mine :D, but I'm above all happyness to have found time and motivation to model this character. Thx !!!

02 February 2002, 02:17 AM
Excellent ! Really like the mood.
OUIIIIIIIINNN I wish I had no exams , so I could have worked on my pirate !!! OUINNNNNNNNNNNNNN
It's gonna be very very very hard to vote. I think we should separate the results by style.

Anyway, I love it ! :)

02 February 2002, 02:50 AM
Nice work,...It's good to be inspired again.

02 February 2002, 02:20 PM
very nice rendering shot krep except the image of right-hand side

02 February 2002, 02:57 PM
You rock Krep ! This is awesome work, the only thing : although not textured i liked him better with the previous colors. :)
By the way your time is coming, it's crêpe party this week-end !! (chandeleur), i'm sure you did it in purpose so people would inconsciously vote for you after eating a good crêpe...
Machiavelique !!! :D :D :D

Krep Suzeth
02 February 2002, 10:16 PM
Thanks guys, I appreciate a lot.
I've put of materials, because I was not satisfied with the old ones, it was working materials, a general feeling of what they could be at the end. I wish I could have much time to work on materials, but it's for after the challenge. It's a modeling challenge, no ?

Well I put some wireframe pictures.
