View Full Version : Image attachemtns vs viewable image
OK, I've done a search and checked threads, they are only about image size or problems uploading. The vbulletin faqs don't cover this. :(
My questions is- why does you images sometime just get displayed in the message and others show up as an attachment link?

IF you have attached an image using CGNetwork's server space, then the image may appear as either an image within the post, or, as a link. This is because sometimes the owners of this fine forum need to limit bandwidth usage. Requiring that an attached image has to be downloaded, allows for savings as the images are not downloaded every time someone views a page.
If you post externally hosted images, they should be displayed within your post automatically.
Please remember that CGTalk now has over 40,000 users and is a free service. It is encouraged that you keep image attachments(hosted by cgtalk) to a minimum. It's only out of the kindness of their hearts that they allow it at all.
Is this a per forum thing?

You simply go to your website and find the full url of your image. Copy it, and then look for the button in the new post page(where you type your messages)that says "IMG". Click it, and then paste your image url into the box that pops up. Or, just put your image url between these tags(minus the quotes):
yeah i realized this only after i posted my question thus revealing my self as a ninny. thanks though
