can anybody help me on why this is happening.
My rendered image:
My hockey puck is having problems. Everytime I render my image in Lightwave 7, I get this weird bump mapping problem.
Here is the bump map:
Here is the UV:
When I am in Lightwave 6.5, everything renders fine. Has anybody else had this problem. Or maybe, I am doing something wrong. Please help!!!:scream:

Umm... are you serious? Because it's so obvious what the problem is. Is it that funny blob you want to get rid of? Thats obviously caused by the big grey blob in your bump map...

I think he's talking about the bumps looking irregular on the final image.
they are not! look at the image closely: all that makes this irregular is the lighting I think.

hmmmm.... I think you may be right. Yeah, I also think it's just the light. What does your spec map look like? Because it looks like you have alternating dull and shiny rectangles, and it just looks like the light is catching that...
Looks like some kind of interference pattern or murraying, you could try and put some fractle noise in the over the bump map or in the texture its self, otherwisw you could put a little bit of jitter in the mesh or add a displacment map. Nothing is perfectly round in reality if things were perfect we would be seeing intereference patterns everywhere. if you put just a little bit in you could get rid of the artifacts and maybe even make the model more realistic.
Is the renderer more accurate in 7 than 6.5? if so this could explain the version difference
I hope this helps
