View Full Version : Room Lighting - Advice needed

I made a room. Some kind of bathroom and I want to recreate the lighting of this photo.

And this is what I have so far.

The models are not so important. My only interest is the lighting.
I'm working in Cinema 4D 11. I used a sky object as the room has windows on the right side, which cannot be seen. The sky object is for the sunlight and skylight. Then I used a spotlight as my main light coming directly from the ceiling. It has an area shadow. And I used a fill light to brighten up the room a little bit.

It would be great if someone could give me advice on lighting the room.

The first thing you gonna to change is the direction of your light source. From the photo, the main light spot is fall on the ground, not like what you have which fall on 3 sides of the wall. Then try not to fill up the whole space with light, the top part of the space should be darker.

And it is better to change your glass into tinted black glass if you try to achieve same feeling as shown in the photo, because lighting is not only depend on light, materials have played a important role too.

After adjusting the light source, I think you can tweak it in photoshop. As the lighting isn't so complex that you can actually save a lot of time with ps instead of tweaking it in 3d.
