View Full Version : get render sequence of a mesh

im wondering if there is an easy access to the render sequence max uses to display a mesh in the viewpoint


which face is drawn first (even if it is not bc of backfaceculling..) and which face is drawn after that and so on and so on till we reach the last face, on top of all others

and this stored in an array

is this possible to get from somewhere or do i have to write a new algorithm which gets me this information based on a specific point-of-view ?

This is usually done by the graphics card nowadays - Max would only send the geometry data to it and get the image back, all sorting and shading voodoo would be performed by the hardware. Thus, I don't think there is a simple way to get that information, but I could be wrong.
