This hands-on course will cover Houdini Character Rigging from the ground-up, raw and exposed. The objective is to rig a character using a combination of traditional capture weights and muscles. You will learn to: create bone hierarchies with various constraints, mirror bones, Capture geometry using proximity or regions, Capture geometry with Muscles, finally build a structured capture geometry (SOP) network that incorporates attribute transfer and attribute blending.
All are welcome to participate, but attendees should ideally have some familiarity with Houdini.
The instructor for this course is Jeff Wagner. Jeff Wagner, a Senior Technology Consultant at Side Effects Software, has been an integral part of the technical support department for over thirteen years, supporting and teaching first Prisms and now Houdini. Wagner has been credited as technical editor on published work and regularly writes for the Old School Blog on the Side Effects website. Wagner is passionate about Houdini's procedural way of working and about furthering the skills of the Houdini community.
