View Full Version : Ghost in the Shell

Hi guys, I've been a little lazy with this one. This was part of my final piece for my Bachelor of Animation at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. Most of it's explained in the blurb in the linked page.

At the beginning of semester, I thought it'd be a great idea to model and animate at least part of this scene from the movie. I thought the crab tank was one of the coolest designs I'd ever seen. I particularly loved the way it moved. At the time, I thought noone else had done it, but a month or so into modelling I finally had a look around and realised I certainly wasn't pioneering the model.

If anyone's interested in the workflow, you can check it out at Sorry, without a QUT login, you can't view the videos- pictures only. If you're THAT interested, just PM me.

I was happy with how a lot of it turned out. It was much more of a learning experience than anything.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm not doing anything else with it, but I'm still posting it in WIP because it looks pretty unfinished.

When you said "crab tank" I was thinking of a giant glass tank at a restaurant where you might pick out the crab you want to eat for dinner. And I thought "Hmmm, i don't' recall anything like that in Ghost in the Shell"

Well, whatever the out come, it looks like it was a promising start to the project.
