07 July 2003, 01:54 PM
 Great Job!

07 July 2003, 02:07 PM
Excellent. Lots of character.

07 July 2003, 02:13 PM
the tall guy's left leg is interfering with the body of the short guy, creating a difficult to read silhouette.

i would reposition either the characters or the camera to improve the composition.

actually, on closer inspection, the tall guy is perfect, but the short guy doesn't fit too well. a better pose and composition on him would sort it out.

07 July 2003, 02:53 PM
Wonderful use of colour lobo2, your character development is well thought out as well as the subject matter. Excellent to see originality in your posting, …did you create this in a team environment or by yourself?

07 July 2003, 03:04 PM
Great stuff!! Loads of character as was said.

Yeah, something needs to be done with the pose of the small guy, also to do with the fact he seems not to be looking at where don is pointing imo, rotate him a little anticlockwise.

Love their hands, great modelling.

Will you be animating the scene? It deserves coming to life.

07 July 2003, 08:50 AM
thanks for comments and critics...

huck: i did it by myself

07 July 2003, 08:54 AM

07 July 2003, 09:05 AM
Love the toony, stylised design, awesome! :applause:

07 July 2003, 09:10 AM
thats going straight to the pool room......

I love the eyebrows on Don..... for some reason i think all of his emotions sit right there in this pic....wonderfull

though Sancho looks a little stoned

wheres the donkey ;)

07 July 2003, 09:13 AM
The colour scheme is fantastic and the characters have a strong personality, great pic! What software (and renderer) did you use?

07 July 2003, 09:17 AM
I can't believe I am actually saying this because I love this picture but the tall guys upper arm goes thru his shoulder thingy. Sorry for nit picking!! Fantastic though, would love to see an animation if you have one.

07 July 2003, 09:21 AM
Tall guy? short guy?

I thought it was obvious they were Don Quijote and Sancho Panza... Sorry, you all hurted my spanish pride:annoyed:

Great work man :applause:

07 July 2003, 09:22 AM
That looks great. I hope you meant your latest picture not your last picture. You have just arrived. It would be a shame to see you go so soon.

07 July 2003, 09:32 AM
EXCELENT! :applause: very stylish...

but the mills are in back, what he is pointig to?! ;) :p

07 July 2003, 09:34 AM
Beautifully designed and executed characters :applause: !!!

Q: Why do most of the more brilliant artworks, both 2D and 3D here (on this and other boards), reach such sublime heights?

A: Because the artists have been allowed to work from their own sketches and art-direct themselves, therefore maintaining the original character, simplicity and dynamism of the concept....
as is evident from this image!

- I only mention the above, because I noticed recently,in picking out what I consider to be the quality work for my 'reel, all but one piece had been part of a PPP (production pipeline)...

really great piece of work man. I agree about the silhouette. So I made a quick image to show you what I mean.

Everything but the little guy reads well.. his right arm is covered by the silhouette of the hat, which i dont consider as big a problem as the way the leg of Don Quixote blends with him.

Hope you dont mind the paintover :)

07 July 2003, 09:48 AM
I am from "La Mancha" (Albacete/Spain) :)
Congratulations, good work!

07 July 2003, 09:50 AM
BTW, is that a Rob Zombie avatar?

donno who's Rob Zombie, but that guy in that avatar is LOBO! a character created by Simon Bizley.

07 July 2003, 10:02 AM
Hey man, i'd love to see Rocinante in that cartoon style!!!!

:lightbulb (Rocinante is Don Quijote's horse)

Great style

Great work on the design! The style is very cool :) I love the lighning and the color too :) Good job:thumbsup:

07 July 2003, 12:56 PM
wow... excellent, I simply love the style, very well designed characters, amazing job!

As someone said, some shapes could be more readable, where Don Quijote's leg intersects Sancho. I would have also blurred the background a bit, just for the characters to be more readable too.

Excellent... :applause: any chance to see this animated? wires maybe? extra shots? .... just in case... :)

07 July 2003, 01:11 PM
You still haven't told us what program you used

07 July 2003, 01:31 PM
great! :D very very stylish

i think the composition could use some work, the characters don't really stand out from the background

07 July 2003, 02:08 PM

07 July 2003, 02:23 PM

Will there be any animations?
It is not too hard to imagine these characters getting to this pose and continuing on. I can even imagine them interacting with each other.

Very nice!

07 July 2003, 05:54 PM
i really enjoy that pic as well, great style i agree, great atmosphere .

07 July 2003, 06:22 PM

07 July 2003, 08:08 PM
Awsome job, just one crit...

I think the tall guy's mustache should match his beard and shoes, curly and pointy.
That's it!
Let's see them move!!!

07 July 2003, 08:54 PM
Hi, I liked you pic a lot¡¡¡ Only two things.. (my opinion):

I'll make the grain of the windmill a little smaller...

I also make the sails a little more irregular... bended....

These are only opinions.. I hope you understanded my english...

07 July 2003, 08:59 PM
dam nice render...................

07 July 2003, 09:42 PM
Hey, I really like this. I might be nice if there was more detail in Quixote's elbows. A few more polys or whatever for a nice crease right there. I might also make Quixote's arms and legs just a bit thicker. I think you want a real skinny guy but maybe widening the limbs just a BIT may be more appealling.

Just my crit. You can tell me to F-off if you like.:D

07 July 2003, 10:08 PM
Excellent. Sancho bears a remarkable likeness to Billy Bob Thornton!

07 July 2003, 10:33 PM
Donny fighting Greek windmills ;) ... GREAT
The chars really have style.

I thought I would be frägged ;) when I saw your Ava. I´ve still got Lobo 1 to 23 then they stopped it here. Sad but true, that was quite a while ago.

07 July 2003, 11:45 PM
Awsome work man!

Reminds me of the new Monkey Island style.

Top marks!! :D :applause:

Excellent boulot pour cet excellent sujet !

Les personnages sont très sympathiques et s'implantent très bien dans le décor.

J'aime le côté très lumineux de la scène.

P.S. : Par ailleurs, j'adore Bisley ! ;)

long mao
07 July 2003, 07:12 AM

07 July 2003, 07:34 PM
oh,it's very good job!

i like the model very much.

07 July 2003, 09:58 PM
Excelent job.
I agree tha Don Quijote looks awesome - a unique interpretation of the character. I like the faint suggestion of a mustach, and the whole attitude.

Sancho is pretty good, but his proportions are a bit odd. He is very skinny in parts. This could work, but would benefit from some figure drawing studies - maybe wider hips. He just doesn't yet embody the "down to earth" feel of the original character.

Overall, very cool.

07 July 2003, 03:28 AM
Like it, Like it, Like it !! Great modeling and coloring.
:applause: :applause: :applause:
