Look at my latest post for a description.

Hey everyone, There are some mint entries already online I'm very excited.
I have chosen to do a cyborg for my Dominance War IV entry.
The Scourge or War is a cyborg about 3 times the size of an average adult human. Its main power source comes from the two human torsos kept on its back. These bodies are kept unconscious and feed full of nutrients to keep them alive and full of energy. The CPU sucks energy out of the living power source to fuel it in battle. When it needs a huge burst of energy two generators per capsule start to spin at an alarming rate sucking almost all the life out of its living hosts so get the boost of energy it need. the antenna on its back acts for communication as well as another power source. They attract lightening and store up energy in its body when struck by lightening.

I still haven't thought of its weapons yet. Maybe a gun arm some massive weapon. Maybe even deviating hands of some kind. What do you guys think?

Love the concept.. especially the spinning capsules would be a cool thing to visualise it when in attack mode, Nice Design too.. looking forward for updates

Hey here is an update. i changed the design quite a bit. He is now more fleshy and I'm working on putting in the mechanical parts. He also has two giant laser cannons in each palm of his hand. Hope you guys like. Please feel free to critique.

I like the giant hands, it reminds me of a caveman :), i also like how you have the robotic muscles, this could look quite good on the huge hands keep it comming mate

Hey all, its been a long time since i've posted anything and I still Haven;t come too much further either. Here is an update on the design. I hope to finish it tomorrow. I've gone less for robotic muscles in the arms, and now have exhaust type pipes coming out of his muscles to release the heat and excess energy from firing his hand cannons. I've developed the capsules a bit more (as you can see far right). And am now just deciding on what to do for the legs and chest area. Please critique on the legs you like, and/or ideas you think could work well as I'm a bit stuck on my design at the moment:banghead: (

Great concepting mate :) i think the face could use a little more details, i love the whole exhaust idea. as for the legs i like the bottom ones but um still undecided about the feet as i dont like the top right ones as they look too close to human shoes (mechanical version), but i think putting the top left ones with the bottom legs could make it look like robot pants:p, but keep it up man cant wait to see the final design

Hi Benjamin, Thanks for replying to my post in the general discussion thread. I think there might be another reason though, cause I live in Europe and I usually try to post comments on other threads considering to East/West times. However as I said thanks a lot for posting.
About your design, I think the idea of the torsos in the back is really cool! I would play a little bit more with the silhouette of the character, may be you could find some more nice forms.
BTW, I loved your Predator VS Alien illustration. Really great!!!

looking very nice man, I've just got the feeling his back looks stretched out in order to fit 2 on his back? It only looks aparent in the isomectic shot in your last sketch post. The front + side views look natural tho.

Apart from that everything looks mint! Keep it up. :-)

Thanks all for you comments.

Spartistic- Yea I wanted the head plain like this as it is not the main focus. The arms and his cannons are the main focus. I will detail the head up with war damage.

MrRico- No problem, glad I could help.

Darkra - Yea I really want two but I will take into consideration size when I'm building it in 3D.

I'm finally in Modo so will hopefully have an update on later today or tomorrow with a WIP of the Capsule.

Ha ha finally some 3D for you all. Hope you like where its heading. I'm going to play with the scale of the chick. Also i will be putting a head piece on her that 'plugs' her into the cyborg body. Then I'll start on the rest of the body. Hopefully some Zbrushing this week. :arteest: (

I managed to get some time today to rough out my base of my body mesh to take into Znrush. I just need to build the pipes to sculpt the flesh around :arteest: (

Sweet i've been developing the neck area a bit more. I will be fattening up the wires that run along the big cabling in his neck. I have his shoulder coming out over the pipes so it is ready to take into Zbrush to start sculpting the shape of the pipes back into them. Its 5am here so I think ill hit the sack now for some Zzzzz. (

Hey guys. I haven't been on here for a while as busy busy Zbrushing. So my high poly is almost complete. I had an idea of having this spear through him to make him more interesting, but I think i'll save on the UV space and ditch the idea. I've added the aerials on his back. And now just have to make his legs and head.
Hope you like, and as always please leave critiques and thoughts.
So much work to do with so little time. :banghead: (

Hey thanks dude, I really enjoyed working on the hands. Maybe i'll do some anatomy sculpts later on after D War. Just finishing up the legs now. Hopefully will finish them tonight:) Then start on the low poly tomorrow. :buttrock:

SPartistic - The flesh you speak of is actually burnt flesh from the pipes getting too hot when firing his hand cannons.. I will attend to the other areas mentioned soon.

Here is an update for you all. The legs are pretty much done and I have added some subtle veins to the arms. Started on a displacement for the face mask, please critique as pretty stuck on the idea for the mask, its very much a WIP. Low poly now :argh: so i best crack onto that. (

Nice one bro, it's come together quite well.

Legs could use a bit more texture, but I am sure you can take care of that in the texturing.

Time to crank out that low poly :D

man looking great, love the legs with there simplicity, ti works wel with the overall look :), the low poly looks really good as well. keep it up, will be nice to see what colours you choose to go with

NavigatorJones - Thanks. Um it only looks like this cause of the global illumination I have in my renders and a blue toned image for my HDRI. The model just has a default shader over the whole thing, except the next and the glass.

Spartistic - Thanks heaps dude. i've been worrying heaps about the plainness of the legs, but cant seem to think of anything to add which fits, so I think i'll leave them like this.

Hey just started baking some my normals so here is an untweeked quick render of my body with Normal/colour/occlusion. I know it still has dirty dirty seams but im just keeping you guy up with the play on my progress. (

Hey mate, looking good for a rough. May want to check out the zigzags on the surface of the hands, could be a normals problem, otherwise keep up the good work! _b

Hey just another update. Busy busy at work so hopefully that wont stop me from reaching the deadline. Just rendered the normals for the hand cannon and neck, an the colour for the neck too. (

Pose is great mate, really suits the character :) i cant help thinking hes going up to someone and grabbing thier whole head in one massive hand then blowing it to bits :)

Hey all. Man last night was insane trying to do all the texturing and renders ready to hand in. Here is the final. Hope you all like it and please feel free to critique it as I would still like feed back. I'd like to say thanks to everyone that helped me out with this :beer: , especially Verasl and Untamed. A very big thanks to my girlfriend who has been very understanding of all the time I've spent doing this project.

Well id just like to say wow :bowdown:, i have been watching your posts from the start. You have increasingly improved and developed this. The final looks really great, one of your better works i'd have to say :thumbsup:, so keep up the good work and i look forward to see more where that came from.

I missed this one. Looks like the normal map is not rendering very well, but the character still looks badass and really entertaining :)

Thanks dude. Yea i know there are a lot of seams around. I was so far behind for ages, and had to cram all the texturing in in the last day or two.

Yeah congrats on finishing man. Bit of a shame you had to rush at the end, but it came out quite well regardless. Good luck for the judging!
