hi,everyone~what a war!
I want to make a cyborg or a war machine so far,to protect the sector maybe~story haven't been finished yet~:P
however,i have some questions about cyborg:
It's a "comprised of living body parts fused together with mechanical additions",so could the "living body parts" be any living creatures like animals or even an organ?
It didn't mention it's size, so could it be very large as a boss-size?
I would be appreciate if someone could tell me!:bowdown:Thank you!

hmm, i've never imagined a non-human shaped cyborg. i guess animal cyborgs are ok. which organ are you planning to use?

Cyborg is a mix between artificial and what humans are. So you would be making a cyborg, but can you mix a "norm" and a robot? is that allowed?

Good question. I think it is but no magic allowed for them because they arent fully organic.

From Wikipedia: A cyborg is a cybernetic organism (i.e., an organism that has both artificial and natural systems).

So, to be clear, a cyborg doesn't necessarily have to have human characteristics...

Looking good so far - sketches have a "Ghost in the Shell" feel.

and still a question: Can a cyborg be as big as this(top left)?
and i thought about the story,i found that it fits Valkyrie well!~this war,could be Ragnarök(final destiny of the gods),machines are the gods of mechanical century~and before the war, these unique girls are chosen by the gods to armmed as unique senior cyborgs(Valkyrie).Valkyries are top fighters,and they go to war field to pick the dead creatures to rebuild them as normal cyborg fighters,to fight for the gods(machines),eliminate other living things...i may change its name for Valkyriel,ha(-riel for holy,saint~i remember)

still the story could be more complete,ha~but the design should be most important~
i'm still wondering whelther this one had appeared?does it have something wrong?could it be something else?

the concept sounds great to me :) i also like you silhouettes, especially the cyborg-centaur shapes look promising... They'd also fit very good to your story, as valkyries were mounted i think

i wouldn`t go back to the first one... like you said the design looks too familiar it reminds me of a pod-racer in Episode I. i like the big war machine i can formaly see how it moves...

I really like your sketch on the top of post #12. While technically it could be a cyborg, there's just such a large machine-organic ratio and so little human or bipedal shape to it that it screams war machine instead of cyborg. Pretty cool looking one, too. Good luck with whichever you choose!

some more about the pre one~Actually, i did this a day before~i think i want it looks heavy,hovering,full-ammo type~

I don't want it has arms maybe,replaced by a spear and a shield,not a gun~and the shield and spear could be rotated and swung in a small angle~the mobility is provided by the jet engine and/or magnetic levitation system~ maybe it could launch missle or something~not Funnel,ha

how's it? if it is not going well,maybe i should start to develop something else and a new story~XP

these are very cool designs keep up the good work. You can see how the structure and silhouette is working really well maybe upgrade to more of an epic wepon or add in some extra secondary wepons.

Hey man.. You've got some nice stuff here. I think it works fine, im not really into clean mecha typ stuff tough.. I do see you have alot of skill and creativity. Sounds like your not to certain of it yourself, go with your gut feeling man, thats always best! If you feel like its the concept you want to go with, do it. If you doubt it you might want to start experimenting and thinking about what you really want. Just some thoughts.. Keep up the good work!

I like how it’s coming, but I think it needs something that the viewer can relate to…like an identity, like it’s a little un personal. Well if that made any sense to you you’re a hero, it’s hard to express.

Here you can find some pretty wild cyborg ideas, the guys at masiveblack are nuts!!!

i suddenly felt that the one i was working on is just like a pilot more than a cyborg~isn't it?
so i tried a muscle-like version~it could be some kind of moster/artificial muscle that is easier to be controled by a living body than a let the cpu control a living body in order to control the mighty muscle reformed gear~ ha,sounds weirdly:curious: ~

Hey man, nice stuff sofar! You really have a knack for tech designs, it's soo not my thing :P

Of all your designs sofar, I think the first one on page 2 is the strongest. This sketch has what most of the other sketches lack; familiar shapes people can relate to. The sketch I like looks like an animal about to jump on his pray, almost like a panther or something. Your other designs seem more generic and with less character (eventhough wonderfully drawn). :)

Anyway, nice stuff, looking forward to your next explorations!

Very cool concept man, reminds me of one of the bosses of FFX. i think i prefer the smoothed aromor groups that you have in the latest small version as opposed to the large, large seems a buit visually noisy to me where as the other holds great balance.

now i focus on the cyborg and develop something~ although i prefer the I and III,i still put them here for some comments and suggestions~ thank you!

the colours are not final,just for seperate and define them~
no matter what it looks at the front,it is full of some kind of jet engine at the back

hey birdman03, nice concepts. My favorite is nr.7 followed by nr3. But i have one thing to say; they are all very symmetrical. I would make one of his "arms" bigger or longer. That`s why i prefere nr.7 but also there could be more asymmetry. i hope I could help a bit.

Man, seeing it "in action" so to speak, with the perspective and the colors is really cool.

As far as the composition, these are my thoughts:

You're filling the frame with action, which I like, but it seems a little crowded. What I did in the following paintover was mostly just expand the canvas a bit wider and move a couple things around. I also adjusted the position and angle of a few things, including the background ship and your character's lance.
The top two images are yours (normal and armature view) and the bottom two are my illustrated thoughts.

a friend told me it was crowed too, which in his words:lacking a place for breathing.

but,which feazed me most is the balance between showing the design and painting an image~
i didn't mean to make it so big at first,but i'm afraid it's not big enough to show the details~ so i dragged the character as big as the canvas~ but since it doesn't look good from many people,maybe i could try it looser on composition~

so maybe there is no strictly balance between showing design and painting image~maybe there's only emphasis on one of them~but i'm still not so sure which meet the requirement better~

Nice! I can really see the design much better now. It looks good with the team colors, too. I like that you have more space above and below the character now, but the sides restrict the movement of the piece in my opinion. Room on the left side of the frame at the least would give the impression that the character is flying out of the clouds. With such a tight horizontal framing I get the impression that the character is static, floating instead of flying.

yeah I know how you feel all the way, its a bit frustrating but you just got to keep pushing. I don't really have any useful advice, besides that, I'm a real amateur myself. I think your stuff is looking real good. Maybe just finish up some details on the birds and such, also give it a rest for a couple of days that helps. Nos vemos, big hug bro! :wavey:
