View Full Version : Where to start from: Exploring & learning SDK

I havent found a thread dedicated to learning SDK... a step by step direction how to start working with the SDK. wondering if someone will guid me through it. I have the latest Full version of Visual Studio Pro installed on my machine now (came free with my copy of develop)...

I would like to start exploring the modifiers and changing some properties for myself and i guess I can only do this via the SDK... what else can I do in the SDK !!

Modifiers plugins are the most difficult plugins to develop with the SDK of 3ds Max... Utility plugins are the easiest.
These 2 types are the most used in creating tools for game development with importer/exporter types.

The book is well known now but the document about choosing between a modifier and utility plugin types is useful.

There are not much people doing SDK development on this forum. Maybe you can find answers by searching first in this forum:
