hi..hope can finish this one...P..
I combine seahorse and some other sea creatures to create the DW version of poseidon....
just initial sketch...hope have more clear image of him soon...

Good start. Your reference study is very strong. try pulling more shape elements from that into your body design.

thanks teadrinker....but I am changing to other character..got stuck with the poseidon...p
change character...p...guild wars as reference+cowboy+native tribe+shaman king...

modeled out the base mesh...and zbrush a little....
hopefully have enough poly in the end..still got a little creature to build...p

good looking character you have here. imo you should use the exact face (with prominent forehead) in the first sketch of this character.

Hey,keep workin on poseidon it's nice start,it's more unique than the new guy,new one reminds me of GW Asura characters. :thumbsup:

I agree with nellement; this guy looks a lot like those characters from Guild Wars. I think you're going to have to do something to set it apart if you want to continue along this design path.

cool model and concept ya got there man.. if you are worried about polycount.. remember these guy's faces don't ever need to deform unless you are planing an expression. seems like you could cut a ton out of his head :)

actually the Shaman is my first idea...but I decided
to go for Poseidon as it is more original..
but then right now,I found it might be too ambitious
for me as it has too many details from what I have in
the end(my zbrush is not good...)..maybe will use it for
DW V ??? ^^
kmanning - ohh..I see..what will the game artists do for the game
characters in the games ??do they model the face a
little???or just rely on normal maps??
change a bit..so that wont be so Asura'ish...P...
horn + something like the ears of the Vincent in 'Underworld'.

Ok man nice progress,about poseidon don't think it's to ambitious just try to challenge yourself guys from this forum will support you,but if this is the first idea you wanted thats fine go with it than. :thumbsup:

I also liked your first idea Poseidon. But this one is as good as Poseidon if you like it so much.
I think if you make him less muscular than now it's gonna be much more original than usual.
His props are going wonderfull as well. :thumbsup:

The Poseidon has not been awaken since a long long time...deep in the sea,rocks,shells,sea grass,sea creatures and all kind of stuff grow,hide,got stucked on him...
Today,war is coming.Poseidon has awake to help the norm friends...He cant get away with all the things on him..but he doesnt know that these 'parasite' will save his life later in the war.....

that poseidon has some really interesting design,just think the hand armor is a lil too big ,I like the tail design really nice

nellement : thanks...that is a lobster+seahorse tail....P..ya...change to a smaller and normal armor,to avoid confusing with the sea plants and creatures...^^
a bit more sculpt in zbrush..added a bubble to the poseidon,
with the bubble,poseidon is able to go beyond the sea....^^
but dont know can get the nice bubble reflection in the end....hope can...P

Cool stuff! liked the face details.. i liked the idea of giving that fish face for his fingers instead of having the entire hand like fish and the tail concept is awesome! keep going.. waiting for updates

Nice modelling. I like the one in #18 best, without so many of the powerups ;) I reckon if you made that torso a little less human that would do the trick. Still, nice work.

Awesomely deigned and detailed model here! Love the fish hand.
My only crit is that the tail seems too small to power him around, also the human part of his torso looks a bit stiff.
I am also going for a marine look with my character, it's nice to get away from the typical goat horns and batwings look.

namnocilis - you mean the fish hand in the concept??I think I am not going to use that d,switch to the fish in the rock,while another hand will be a normal one cause need to hold the weapon....p
BaronImpossible - yup..I took out the rock around the waist,less complex and I am worry bout the texture...P...good idea on the torso,I tweak a bit in the latest update...^^
primativ - ya..now I look back..it seems like too small...but I think I will stick to that size,cause hte poseidon uses his arm a little to swim and I am going to use alpha for the tail,so..try not to make it to big....P
little update...took out the rock at the waist...p

the bottom part is where the rock breaks...hopefully can get the feeling of it in the end...^^

I found a retopology video,but it doesnt explain how to add division,
some part of my models dont have enough division....P
