It Begins!!!

This is huge...well this is gonna be a good experience for me so I'm going in.

I'm loving the demons!!

Demon Lord I'm liking a lot, sounds interesting " ruler of some kind, when provoked unleashes a inborn fusion of power into a spectacular degree" - that speaks to me... might go with (Death/Darkness).

Abomination - disfigured creatures, undead no power what so ever just claws and teeth. Ohh man, i'm feeling the rawness of this topic.

Not sure which one to choose, gotta come with some thumbs...

I'm gonna need a good recipe for inspiration hmmm... I'm thinking some Sevendust for base, a pound of Rage Against the Machine and touch of Nonpoint!!

03 March 2009, 07:39 PM
hey guys!! Everyone is so excited that's awesome!!

Here are some thumbnails...At first i was going with a Demon Lord but than i change to a Demon Prince and or Abomination still deciding.

Having some thoughts on the Demon Prince, He's gonna be almost white, elegant but his fusion powers are gonna be death/darkness like his veins and hands are gonna be black as ice!!

But i do like some of thumbs of Abomination it still has a grip on are the links.

Good start, but all thumbs don't realy differ from eachother besides poses? I'd try solid black poses, and focus more on proportions and silhouet of the character. Really fat characters, really slim ones, with tails, horns etc. Otherwise you're just drawing poses instead of exploring ideas for cool characters..:) Have fun! :)

03 March 2009, 02:58 PM
hey guys!!

Here are some images of my Demon Prince, working out some idea here and there.

Rhemrev thanks for the advice!!

Here are the links

Hi! :)
Nice stuff so far. I'd like to see you play with proportions some more and give it some interesting shapes, dont get locked up in the human anatomy just yet. With your thumbs I'd like to see some bigger variations in not only smaller shapes but the large ones mostly, Smaller variations can be worked out in later stages.. Also when you post your images, wy not use the small lightyellow icon that looks like a postcard to show your images directly in the thread, i think some people will miss your images if you show them like that. Keep it up!

hi guys!!

here are some ideas I've been exploring on, was trying to push more on them. Finding the look, i think i already know what i want.

Enjoy them and course have your say please!!

Sorry guys for the post... trying to figure out how to show my pics, i have them on blogger, i really want you guys to see them.

the postcard thing not working hmmmm...

03 March 2009, 11:26 AM
Much better already, good stuff! I dig that you are experimenting with different workways, different process means different outcome, cool!

Keep it up!

03 March 2009, 05:32 AM
Yes finally got it to work, a friend to showed me a way to work the postcard thing through another site, anyways here go and enjoy. This is the latest wip for who have miss it before, C&C are welcome!

03 March 2009, 07:40 PM for the replies, Everybody is working hard. Here is a quick WIP on my Demon Prince. Starting from the left to right being the latest. Just trying to refine the figure, still thinking about working on the legs, hands and face later on.

I 'm thinking about the story on the Demon Prince, on what my greatest fear is during on all this war, is a demon who's smiling, and that this war is his playground. Will see where this goes... C & C are most welcome.

More stuff to show guys, taken back from my last post i broken it down into parts for me to do more concept on my Prince. I'll let you guys have your thoughts on them, there's no order on how you choose but if you guys forgot. I'm going for jester Demon Prince and this war is his playground.

HEAD: just some simple shapes, playing around with the horns and helmet.

ARMS: playing around shapes on the shoulders, having some thoughts on colour for the hands.

LEGS: more concepts on the legs, trying to figure out the feet.

So after this stage, i'm gonna figure the rest of the Model Sheet, get a side, back, and close ups started and start working on thumbs and concepts for the final image.

03 March 2009, 09:37 PM
Great stuff :) I sense a "nasty clown" demon theme in your work.

03 March 2009, 09:49 PM
hey, really like that sinister tilt to the pose! nice idea on the hands, too - personal favourite is the finger tips on 'C', always good to see some demonic flesh on show! ;)

not sure on the tilt on the hands, though. kinda looks like someone's stolen his piano...!? perhaps turn them up, maybe?

i think the smile totally fits the brief - an creature evil beyond description who relishes the idea of tearing innocents apart with his bare claws!

nice, looking forward to what you do next,

Hey guys, first off...

MartinNielsen thanks, trying to capture that feel for sure, never done this before so i hope i can pull it off.

Lefoosh, LOL... i totally agree with you it does look like someone stole his piano, don't worry I'll fix that, once i get started with concepting the final image.

It has been a couple of crazy days or should i say nights staying up figuring this out. I'm not 100% sure i''ve done this right but here it is.

Going back on my last post i gave some options for the parts, i've decide on the head i went with B but i didn't like the design on the mask so still thinking about what to put there, it remind me of the eye from lord of the rings. The arms i went with C i like the idea of white Demon to show some skin. The legs i went with C it had the classic jokerish feet, and personally like the knee caps, thinking about putting some happy or sad face on there...not sure yet just a thought.

Well here is it, C&C are always a welcome ENJOY!!

Been awhile guys, quick post here of my final work in progress, just simple sketch, line and tonals.

Again if you guys forgot or missed out the back story is that this war is his playground, and just goes around collecting things of whatever makes him curious, and at this moment you caught him, mastering the game of cat's cradle.

I hope you guys like it, but still not sure about the overall yet, feels like i have more room to play around, maybe more piles of stuff in background...hmm tell me what u guys think? and is it just me or this month is moving ridiculously fast.

Anyways as always you guys out there are kicking ass with the work, keep it up you guys!!

04 April 2009, 03:44 AM

i really like your joker-concept. There are also some nice details in your picture (the bear f.e.). But some parts of him looks still a bit flat, especially the shoulder pads and his mask. Would love to see some more details on them. Keep going.
