Hey, this is my first Dominance War. I値l be graduating college in a year, so this would make a great portfolio piece. I've always wanted to model a troll like creature, so this would be a perfect chance. My troll is going to be a Norms Warlord. I知 thinking about making a troll with with tribal armor, or heavy metal. I値l sketch some stuff out and see which one i like best. I'll be updating soon, Good luck to you all.

Here's an update on the concept. As of right now i have 3 concepts in my mind. One is a troll with rock armor growing out of his body. Another is a troll with a tree growing out of his back, giving him wood armor. Or another troll with a tree on his back, and having shaman like armor that's made out of stone plates and wood. I知 also thinking about giving some green glowing veins on the trees, and the eyes. I'll sketch out some more concepts to see which one looks the best. Which one do u guys think i should go with?

hey , i think there is no troll class in the challenge , is it going to be demon like ?! , anyway thought to tell , if u haven't noticed , here is the link for the classes , cya :buttrock:

under the Norms description it says "Races classified as Norms include: Alien, mutant, elf, human, fish, pixy, giant, dwarf, tiger, dragon etc" As for class, I知 going with Warlord. Thx for looking out though :D

Ok i'm totally redoing my concept lol. The whole tree growing on the trolls back didn't look as cool as i thought it was going to be. So here is my new concept, i'm going for a much darker look. I'll play around the concept alittle more, and then after my finals are done i next week. i'll start modeling this bad boy. i can't wait :scream:
Story Line: To save time and resources in creating their large armies. The demons would capture humans and would infect them with a demon bug. A baby demon would grow from the human host痴 body, and would reach maturity much faster than usual demons. The tradeoff for this accelerated growth is the demons would be born with defective eyes, are usually very hard to control, and have the hosts left over body infused on their chest.

Hey, here is a quick update. I'm only 2 or 3 hours in. I'm thinking about just putting the "humanoid coming out of the skin thing" on his back instead of his chest. I dont know we'll see. But i just wanted to keep u guys updated.

Ok, heres a update. I gotta finish up roughing out the feet and parts of the leg. Also I gotta finalize the shackles, shoulder armor and pants concepts. When I was roughing out the dude on his back, I was debating if I should keep him symmetrical or not. I知 scared that I値l run out of texture space, cause I値l have 2 different arm textures, and a big hammer texture. Aight tell me what u guys think! C ya later.

Looking nice so far, dude. I like the new idea for a demon with a human sticking out of them. Dunno if it's too late or not, but might wanna think about putting the human in a different, more interesting pose. Just something to think about, not really needed I don't think though.

Hearshotkid: Hey thx man, ya i've played around the poses for the guy on the back, and this was the most dramatic one i could come up with. I wanted to keep it symmetrical to save texture space, so the poses were limited :D
Well spring break is over, and classes will be starting tomarrow. So here is what i've got done. Nothing major, but it's getting there.I'll get started on the armor in a few days. right now i'm having alittle trouble adding detail without making him look undead. Maybe i'll play wtih Alpha's later on. Aight c ya guys later. Any crits would be nice.

Makes sense if you wanna keep the unwrap symmetrical. You could always unwrap the back by itself then keep the rest of him symmetrical, but you'd be using a little more texture space doing that. Looking at some other entries though, I don't think you should be THAT worried about fitting this all into 1 map. All depends on what kind of armor you're cooking up though I guess.

Well here is a update. I'm putting the body on hold for now. I gotta get started on the armor and weapon. I pretty much got the shackles, and chain done. I'll add some zbrush detail to it later. It's 2:45am, i'm going to sleep lol night

Your model looks great.
The body that is wielded into his back looks great. Any way you could incorporate more bodies into other parts of his body? Arms, legs, and chest.
Crazy idea but maybe these could be trophies or fallen enemies that have been assimilated into your demons body.
Just an idea. Love your work :bowdown:

Dude. It's looking very tight so far. I really like the guy merged to his back. Only major thing that looks off to me is his calf muscle. The split down the middle seems a bit too strong. I really dig the braclet and anklet design. The detail of the horns look a bit bubbly for my personal taste and I could imagine ridges going down the length of the horn. I hope that makes sense. Keep it going!

fluxen: HEY! Sang. thx man. Ya i fixed the calf alittle, and i'll add more detail to the horns later.
OOook well here is a big update. I finished almost everything. I gotta just add more detail on the horns, shackles, hammer, and a quick final detail pass on the body. I'm hoping to finish the high poly by end of weekend, and have the low poly done and unwraped by wednesday. Hopefully i'll start texturing before my midterms start... Aight well c ya guys later, Crits are totally welcomed.

Oook, well here is the finished high poly hammer. I'm going to start modeling the low poly now. Hopefully i'll get that done by friday. then i'll do small modeling changes and then to TEXTURING! :scream: kk c ya guys later

cool, I like the mace and the chains too, but I think the head is too human maybe...

Great anatomy you have here. I also like the small details you put into the chains and shackles etc. Keep up the good work!

Heres a update. Sorry it took so long, school's been abit rough -_- Aight well right now i'm texturing. I'm having abit of trouble getting a good color for the skin and pants. Anyone got some idea's?
