View Full Version : DWIV - 3D - Vindicate - Demon Prince

03 March 2009, 08:55 PM
HELLO PEEPS! First of all, im a newcomer. And this is the first time for me in this great war! Im still quite new in 3D so i find this a great option for me to improve my skills and get some good comments and response on my work. Im primarily in this competition to learn alot and challenge myself.

I've created a schedule, to give myself an overview of the task. It's really important for me to have some clear deadlines that i can follow doing this process, thats really the main reason for taking myself the time to create a good schedule.

So i've been researching alot, and i think i've found the direction i want my model to go towards.. Since the new race demons are entering, i felt that someone had to specialize in taking care of them.. Il be making a female norm warlord (bounty hunter/trophy hunter) specialized in the killing of demons. The reason for all the spikes on my thumbnails is that i want her armor to be decorated with the horns from her victims..

this is early sketches so major adjustments might be taken..

il drop some more thumbnails later on.

Like how you have your plans laid out for you! Defitnally will help you stay on track, I like the sketch of her holding a demons head, keep pumping out more =)

will do will do.. plan to post 4 thumbs later today...

I like F the most.. it has more exaggerated/interesting proportions.

D or F for me. :D

03 March 2009, 04:20 AM
F and G. I agree with kmanning, the proportions of F are cool. Love the Weapon in G.

03 March 2009, 08:12 AM
hey guys.. and thx alot for the replys.. As many of you say F steps out, i kinda agree... it got somekind of heroic look, like superman (even thou it's supose to be a girl)..

03 March 2009, 08:25 AM
I think f could work for a woman, it almost has that aeon flux kinda feel to it

I disagree... For me is that a thin man. :arteest:

03 March 2009, 11:19 AM
Nice silhouettes :) I think "F" is a good starting point.

03 March 2009, 12:38 PM
interessting thumbnails, I like the high shouler armor in "E", im really exited about your next steps

03 March 2009, 02:05 PM
@Kmanning Thx mate, il be posting some sketches later today, so stay tuned :D
@Martin Nielsen Thx mate, great to have another dane here! keep rocking!
@Crix Dorius I kinda had the same feeling with that thumbnail. but i think it will work out great when i work on with the thumbnail.
@Sebastian Wunnicke Well thats possitive :D i think it well be a little easier to show some female characteristics when i get to some higher detailing.

03 March 2009, 05:03 PM
Okay heres a sketch, I've made with the pose of thumbnail "F"... I've been playing around with some greytones but I'm not that good at it...

To sum up the major idear... That sexy lady is a norm warlord, heavy armored and specialized in the killing of demons.

03 March 2009, 05:42 PM
Looking good. I think that without the helmet she would be even better. I kinda like the contrast between soft uncovered skin and heavy armour. But that's just me. Also, some wider hips could help to make her more sexy demon slayer.

By the way, I envy you so much for having such an organized schedule...

With out the helmet it would be better. I would say.

03 March 2009, 09:02 PM
okay i'll try to remove the helm and post some updates

03 March 2009, 06:34 PM
Okay... i've removed the helm, and taken a whole new approach to my concept.. After looking at all the beautiful concept posted at this forum, i thought to myself it was time for me to try and up my level a bit, since im not very good at drawing.. So i've spend the whole day on this little piece.. really hope you like :D

03 March 2009, 09:48 PM
Much much better;) Skin Vs. Armor great stuff

03 March 2009, 10:11 PM
hey mate, first of you say you cant draw, thats a lie jsut need your time.

second id like if you made it even more noticeable that shes a throphy hunter by putting a belt with some ears, fangs, horns or teeth hanging from it.

also i really like the idea of a armor right by her face, might be able to work that into something even more cool.

right by her right hand is that hair or ?, im pretty sure it is but just that i had to think about makes me want to say take an extra look at it next time ;)

thats all i have right now hope you can use it for something constructive.

lets win this war ;)

03 March 2009, 12:45 PM
Okay.. havn't really made the largest changes, but i've developed my idear abit... i want somekind of jets on the spear and boots.. The reason for that, is I wanted her to be kinda agile and be able to jump into the air and strike her enemys hard (20x20x20 demons included)

This quick biped setup is to show how my character is going to work

03 March 2009, 02:22 PM
Just a quick sketch to get a better idear of the pose..

03 March 2009, 04:23 AM
Okay.. so i've started to model the body of my model, the biggest problem with this model atm, is that she got some male characteristics... The reason for starting the body, is to use it for a paintover to get a better idear of armor design..

if you got any suggestion about anatomy please let me know!

03 March 2009, 04:50 AM
wow this is gonna be awesome in 3d, gonna enjoy watching this come through!!

Love the way you plan it all out, i must learn from this!!

03 March 2009, 12:56 AM
Working on some armor design. Spend all day trying to figure out halftones.. not really sure about applying helmet or not

03 March 2009, 08:38 AM
I think you are getting close now....her figure is almost in place....she looks strong but not in a masculine without going over the top. I am absolutely against her wearing a helmet, we really need to see her hair...which is cool and gives her a wild image.

I have a bit of a problem with the size of her head and looks somewhat small compared to the size of the amor, like it doesn't quite suit her....and that takes some power out of her...and maybe she need a little more hips. The clothes/amour is awesome...I love it...almost high fashion...Haut

03 March 2009, 10:33 AM
@PeterBraeley thx alot mate, im really looking forward to take this all the way :D

03 March 2009, 12:15 PM
It's better without helmet in my opinion or maybe with helmet, but helmet with more interesting silhouette, you have some spiky elements on the armor maybe try to make helmet with those too

03 March 2009, 12:52 AM
Okay..! first of all thx alot for the replys.. im going without the helmet :D And here you got my final concept, hope you like..

03 March 2009, 09:33 PM
I think she looks hot and foxy....good work. You've come far in a short while.

She is both exotic and native...very much alive. She is tiny but still appears strong and determined. She wakes ones couriosity. Super !

03 March 2009, 02:01 PM
been awhile since I've updated my thread... I've started blocking out the major forms of my armor

03 March 2009, 04:39 PM
looks nice..but the porpotion looks a bit weird to me...
her body seems like too long d...
maybe my mistake..dont know..p
