View Full Version : How to do decent eyelashes?

07 July 2003, 08:22 AM
Hi there,

What's the best way to do eyelashes? I got a poly head and blendshape driven eyelids.

I tried using Paint Effects but it's quite hard to control the direction the tubes go.

Are there any recommendable tutorials? Anybody got some tricky technics?

You can use the construction history method where you would duplicate the curves running along the edge of your eyelid ie..Edit Curves>Duplicate surface curves..Now join the seperate curves( if poly ) to form 1 curve, ( if nurb surface no need obviously ) then use this curve as a motion path to run your lashes (geometry) along. Each lash would need its channels broken after you put it on the motion path, then all you do is adjust the U or V ( I think..) value to move it along the curve..

..or even just attatch the paintFx brush to the curve with construction history. Hope this made some kind of sense
