hey all
i did some searches on the forums to try to find a conversion program that will take lightwave objects and convert them to maya, but all i could find was maya > lightwave conversion programs. does anyone know of a program that will take objects (don't even need whole scenes, just objects) and retain textures and surfaces and convert them from lightwave .lwo to any maya readable format?

thanks much

Try Deep Exploration

What about exporting your scene as a .fbx excluding animation and other things so that u export your object? u can have kaydara's .fbx plugin for free.

The ultimate beast of burden in the conversion cat is PolyTrans. Not cheap but will get the job done nicely.

Try searching a little harder next time...;)

Here's a thread (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39775&highlight=maya+import)

Following CIM's advice, I had no problems getting objects with UV's intact into Maya.
