Made in 3D Studio Max 3.1
Rendered with VRay
Hi, there!!! I just want to show you my last work. It's a model of BMW X.5 car. It took second place on
"Car of my dream" competition that was taking place till 29 of June on "3dm-mc.com". And I believe it's
my last work of such a range on my extra-powerful computer (Pentium II 233 Mhz,160 Mb RAM, 8 Mb Video). I
believe I will make an upgrade very soon. I had to have almost heroic patiance to finish my model (380000
polygons) and to render it with VRay.
And you can see what I've recieved at the after all. I was almoust the last who send the model to take
place in the competition so I almost haven't recieved any responses. So I'm very interesting what do you
think about it.
By the way as the sponsors of the car was "3dvim.com" 3d-market I loaded my car to their site. And you
can buy it there:

wow, you're a VERY patient individual!
I like the "dull" renders the best. The ultra shiny renders are unrealistic. That's a great looking model.

Some very nice renders you got there!
The first one is really good, the car fits very well to the background. On the second one though, the car looks almost like its chrome covered you know? Its way to reflective.
Really nice and clean model overall

As lowdown said, I prefer the dull render, in the others the material is too much reflective. Otherwise the model is excellent and well modelled. Good Job !:buttrock:
super sexy model but the renders need a better render!!!!
you should use good quality HDRI and get someone to render in 4 u in brazil

Very very nice!
The top one is best by far, just blur it slightly as it's "over-crisp" at the moment... Perhaps use a different renderer/anti-alias filter?
If you tone down the reflections on the second image, that would help a bunch! (I suggest re-render without reflections and overlay in PS)

wow, great model!!
IMHO the best illumination is at Rome (first image) ;)
very good job!

Awesome job !!! This is my fav car (among "normal" cars) at all.
But I see a BIG problem in the first pic... I live in Rome, Italy, and you don't have ANY WAY to park your car in St.Peter Place :shame: :p
joking... I like very much the "studio" renderings (last three pics).

First off I love your model. I drive a 2001 silver X5 4.4i sport myself.
I agree with all of the above crits. The only crit I have is that you should add the X5 lettering on the back and maybe the litre lettering on the sides. Other than that awesome!

you wouldn't mind sharing some tips on those dull materials would you ?
I'm in the process of making a car in 3dsmax and i am using vray but i cant get those nice dull reflections. Give me some hints man !!
