Hello People,

here is a piece I have done to keep myself busy. Hope you

like it. All feedback is appreciated...without it we don't get better.

I think the animation is great so far, but do have a few suggestions.

The poses are really right after he pushes the ball down he freezes for almost 3 seconds. And he freezes for almost as long again after her jumpes backwards. Just some subtle movements in those places could really make it believable.

I think some anticipation right before the jump back would help too. As the ball pulls back to lunge at him he could very briefly lean forward then jump.

I think you've got a pretty good start. I agree about the static poses.

Stand up and try to hold perfectly still. You can't do it (unless you're dead). Your body is constantly trying to correct for the pull of gravity. Add in a little bit of a drift or weight shift to the areas where the long pauses are and you'll have a much stronger piece. (especially the beginning bit).

Hi Guys,
thanks for the feedback...I really appreciate it. Here is an update on it. I tried making the hold have slight movements. Am I heading in the right direction...?

good timing and really nice moving holds on the upper body.
now loosen up his legs a bit and you're pretty much there.

I like it a lot!

perhaps it would look better if the ball was moving/hovering a little rather than being perfectly static ?

so far ... VERY good ! :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

ha ha
looks good so far..
im not feeling the jump though
maybe have him sneakily edge towards the ball and then bang! go for it..
or just give him a better anticipation pose .. its to unexpected as it is.. doesnt read to well..

Just watched the update... and the jump looks better than in the first one.. but could still use some more expressive poses.. im not overly fond of the two hand gestures he does after the ball stops moving.. it seems to me at that point he should settle into a less defensive pose..

This is getting better but still could use tweaking.

First, the held poses are still static. I think someone already mentioned it...but it is impossible to stand in one place with out weight shifting slightly. Im mainly looking for the the pelvis to move slightly while he stands still...and maybe the feet reacting a bit. Especially when he steps forward and most of his weight is on one foot.

Second is a minor adjustment that needs to be made to the tangents near the end. After he catches the ball when he goes to open his hands. It looks as though its taking two moves to open up is hands. They move up then open instead of just one fluid motion. And it appears that its happening troughout the skeleton. Watch his knees as he opens his hands. They drop a bit while his hands move up, pause, then drop another bit when his hands open.

I hope that all makes sense...
