Oh hush you, I really like it man, nice realism, especially on the wires. Anyways, would almost buy it if it looked like this ;) Would like to see whole piece, though it's prob. this smooth all the way.

Hehe you should "leak" this as a real ps3 leaked design , those sony folks probs have it rdy yet, wouldn't they feel f*** if their design looks almost same as this one hehe:applause:

I'm strictly an XBoxer, but that design is DOPE!!!!!!!

I'm beyond blown away man, that is truly a work of art...Make a conceptual design for XBox Next, I'd LOVE to see what creation you might conjure up for that...

Nonetheless, that is an incredible image...Curious on a few things...

Render time??
How large are the textures you used??
And how many lights are in this scene and what type of lighting method did you use??
ruM's OUT...

Edit * darnit ended up saying something that was already said.

Anyway it looks good. I'd like to see more, possibly the whole thing? Maybe some different angles? I think you should do the controlers too, possible with similar textures.

I think as a design decision, a circular or elliptical ps3 will not be familiar with the public and owners of the ps1 and ps2. Both earlier versions were cubes so there shouldn't be such a vast distinction between the designs.

This month's EGM had their ideas of what the ps3 would look like too. kinda cool to see everyone's ideas.

cool design

Very slick, realistic render, awesome job! You gotta love the blurred reflections...

Render time?

Hopefully the PS3 will have 4 controller slots...

Thks for comments !

In the beginning it is a nurbs exercise my girlfriend has to do for her design school, and i tried myself at it for fun... :)

Since it's modelled in Rhino, mesh conversion is required, and it's pretty heavy : polycount is 500 000 in this image.

There is only 3 textures here, one for the hull of the ps3, one for the pad plug and one for the environment, all 3 are 500 px wide and everything else is based on procedural maps.

Only one AeraLight and the SkyLight.

Everything is rendered in 5 hours on my lazy Tbird 900 Mhz... :surprised

I'll try to render a video...:

very nice indeed, think I saw a conceptual design of PS3 in a magazine a while back, in the shape of a pyramid!!

I like it! If it is hot enough they could even sell a waffle iron attachment! lol

'llo kanex, ça fait un moment qu'on ne t'as pas vu sur #3dfr :)

Sympa ton design, il ya que la reflexion de la partie basse de la console qui me dérange un peu, elle se confond un chti peu trop avec le sol. Beau taff sinon :) @+

do you have a render of th full ps3, from what i have seen i like your idea. reminds me of a ashtray my parents have in there bathroom.

Hopefully the PS3 will have 4 controller slots...

First thing i noticed too...still only 2 ports? bahh!!! looks cool though, but I would like to see the whole thing too... Anyways the logo is heaps better then the rumoured logo they had on

Hey nice render:rolleyes:
But i still like the black square box PS2 design more. But nice work!

07 July 2003, 02:49 PM
can hardly critique when you cant see the whole thing. Post some more angles etc.

07 July 2003, 03:13 PM
looks really realistic, great reflections on the mats :)
Lets see some wires and other angles plz :)

07 July 2003, 07:41 PM
Its great, Sony should follow your lead and design something like this... PS2 is pretty lame.
