View Full Version : Skater animations

I'm 16 and my main focus is after effects but I'm trying to get better with max. I skate in real life so I decided to make a skater. THis was like 6 months ago and I recently opened the file again to do some animations. So here are some animations I've done this past week or two. Some of them (especially the kickflip and pop shuv it in the first) have been improved a lot by today but I don't have any new renders yet.
I don't consider my self an "animator" so I'm not going for spot of perfection but I want it to look good so comments is appreciated :)
Let me know what you think.
Don't know how you feel about youtube stuff but that's all I got for now. Around 5 animations in each link. Looking back at the 1st one which was uploaded a while back I can see that the timing is really off on most of them..

Hi bonne, your animations look good, they remind me of my sk8īer time.
My only crit would be the shove itīs.
Skaters dont jump so high while doin shove itīs because even if there stand, it should look smoother.
Look here for example http://www.bobstricktips.com/2006/03/fakie_180_shoveit.html
The kickflip aniīs look very good ;-)

Yeah that was a shuv it though, Mine was a Pop shuv it.
I tend not to pop my shuvs as high in nollie or fakie either.
Here's an example of me at 00:54 not the best example though since it's not on flat ground. And I usually pop it a bit higher on flat.
1:20 is another one http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=peHTpvkP-fI&feature=PlayList&p=B53C7E250F721491&index=1
Thanks for the link though, been looking for stuff like that since my tripod is broken and it's easier to use when the camera's not moving.
