(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/242680_1233449463/1024bound)Heres my second entry - digital this time.
the key elements of Jaceks work I choose to use were the the wave shape and use of spheres or bubbles.
I think that Jacek makes it look easy, I guess you will all agree that its harder than it looks.
I started with the idea of an iceberg that melts into the foreground turning into a wave. i wanted to try and get lots of movement happening.
Without getting too deep about it.......... I wanted to try and portray global warming in a way that shows humans taking a ride on mother earth. She is trying to keep the balance while we are harvesting and going for a ride on her - which is why i choose a lemon tree - lemons being a bitter fruit.
I also tried to reflect the lines/movement from the ground into the smog cloud that eminated from the iceberg factory.
Anyway, I said I wouldn't get too deep about it, so will stop there :-)
a final thought - I found that theres a fine line between composition and clutter with these kind of images, not sure if I crossed that line, but welcome any comments - good luck all !

thanks guys :-)
yeah sugeshsa, i think that composition is possibly the hardest thing to get balanced with these surreal images, especially with mine, when she is tilting the tree on her arm, i spent a long time trying different poses, ended up choosing this one, as i thought that the tree leaning that way leads the eye towards the iceberg better......and to balance that, i had the lines on the ground and balls flowing back out of the image............hope that makes sense.
anyway, thanks for the comments :-)

This is my favorite submission so far because of the creativity.
My favorite parts are the clouds, wave, and the lemons in the basket being held by the girl. The contrast of the lemons are perfect.

thanks waynebaby - yeah those lemons actually gave me a headache, beecause the subtle lighting, they actually should have much less in the way of highlights i think, but when i removed the highlights, it simply didnt "pop" enough, so although its not technically correct i left the highlights in there, so the comment is appreciated :-)
cheers Dodgeorburn - kind words indeed ! im praying for 5th place , as theres some pretty nice entries coming along.....my current video card if starting to overheat, so a new one would be pretty cool. of course 1st place would be nice too, but i think there will be lots of great images to come still.....good luck to all i say.
