Here's a gargoyle i'm working on. feel free to critique on anything. Also, i'd like to get some ideas on design. such as the horns, nose, mouth areas. thanks.

Please read this forum's rules before posting.
You will need to edit your original post to include shaded wireframes, and you will need to mention what software you are using.
I'd also recommend finding some free server space to host larger images. As it stands now, they are too small to really crit.
Please also provide orthographic and 3/4 views if possible.

Still not sure about those horns, although their going in the right direction. They might work now, but that'll depend on the texture.
Maybe pull the top of the nose up a bit, and make it a little thicker? Let's see the body!!

yeah, the horns are enoying me the most too. i'm gonna wait until i get some critiques and suggestions before i start working on it. i wanted the texture of the horns to be like ram horns, but the shape and how it's set to be different. And i'll try thickening out the nose. thanks.

as mentioned before, the horns are very unrealistic. the beginning is very small and it gets very big after that. if this creature was to actually exist his forehead would be hurting all the time because of the horns' weight

what do you guys think about mak ingthe horns thinner, but making the front edge of the horn extrude out much further. I wanted the horns to look almost regal. like a wraith. This character is supposed to look very stylized. big hands and feet and huge wings. small waist and head.

btw, the upper lip is too thin, and the little "dent" left by the nose doesnt go that far down

Here's a quick concept for horns. let me know what you all think. i made the nose a bit thicker. i made the lips a bit larger. It'll probably seem fuller when the inside of the mouth is done.

Not sure if the new shape is working. Especially from that second view. Maybe having his ears in the picture, might make it a bit easier to visualize. What about maybe making the initial thickness of the horns about twice the current size? It's tough to see horns so anguler, when all I've ever seen is big and round. Just the baggage I bring to the table I guess...

here's another update of the gargoyle. I'm getting mixed feelings about the horns. i like to give it the texture of a ram's horn, but i also like the shape of antlers. I'll probably finish the horns last when i get some more ideas. how do you guys feel about the proportions and the wingspan. it's really rough right now, but it should give you guys an idea of the style i'm going for. And if you guys have any ideas about the design of the feet, please let me know. i'm stuck. thanks.

Proportions looking good. I think the waist might be a bit too small, but it'll depend on how you flesh out the rest of him. Not sure if it'll be able to hold him up. Now that i see the scale of the rest of him, the horns look way too small. Check out Legend, with tom cuise. The devil has huge horns. Collar bones look a bit too fragile.

I'm not sure about proportions, specially when you compare the arm size and leg size. I really think you should scale down the bottom of his body.

They comes from the Gargoyles series.

Hey dude. This is James from Black Ops. The head is looking really good. I like that you're going for more of a realistic approach, as opposed to more of a cartoony feel.
The wingspan looks good. I always like to see really huge wings on creatures, I think it looks more natural. The only problem comes when you try to render out a nice composition. You either have to crop out the wings to get the body a decent size in the picture, or show the wings and the body ends up being really small. But that's the good thing about CG, you can render out many views of him.
The legs look a bit long, but that's not necessarily bad. Just something to be aware of if it's not a conscious design decision.

i think i'm getting stuck between trying to make the character look real yet stylized. the legs are really stylized but the head isn't. i'm definately gonna shrink down the legs a bit and styized the head just a bit more so that the whole body has somewhat the same style.
but what you said about the wings are true. i do want to make it huge, but i don't want it to end up looking cartoony or goofy. i'll be posting up an update tonight or tomorrow. I haven't been doing too much work on it the past couple of days due to distractions. (warcraft) but i'm finishing up the porportions for the upper body. thanks for all the really good suggestions. keep 'em flying.
