Since that last question didnt get a response, maybe this one will. I need to edit some audio in after effects, just some cropping actually. I havent been able to find a tutorial on audio editing though. If you have a way, i would appreciate it :)

Well I would use an audio editor for sound like (pro tools, Cool edit 2000, or any others) but if you are bent on using after effects to do audio I suggest you make multiple copies of the audio in the project window ... crop and adjust timing as you need then save out as an .aiff file....

as for your retiming question .... there are re timers in AE ... you can use either "enable time remapping" [Alt+Ctl+T] or "Time Stretch" [menu bar> Layer> Time Stretch...] play with these to get the result you are after..
