Sort of late to enter this challenge:P. I will be doing an ice castle in an ice cave. Shot will start off looking out of a cave then slowly pan inwards until total darkness then will slowly reveal a ice castle deep in the cave.

Right now I'm encountering a huge problem and that is when my camera is moving, there's a lot of flickering on my bump map. My bump map is a very fine noise map.if i were to increase the size, it can solve the flicker problem but the look will be diff. Anyone got any solutions?Been troubleshooting this problem for days.Using 3ds max and mental ray.
Thanks for any help:)

reinhart82: Hi, good to see another person from singapore here! Are you working in any studio? About bump maps, you can either kill it off if it is too far from the camera, or you can use normal maps instead.

Looking good. hope to see more!

Hi Ray.Nice to meet you too.I'm working at TinyIsland productions. And ya the small size of the bump is causing problems.Pumping up the sampling quality seems to fix some of the bump problems but there's still some flickering here and there. Will be trying out normal maps over the wkend:)

Decided to add a shot of outside the cave and thanks to Stefan Morrell introducing Der Papa snow shadow:thumbsup:, i managed to rushed out an opening shot in the last couple of days. Not too satisfy with the inside of the cave. Flickering problem is still there, although i manage to reduce it. Was fun doing this challenge:)

This is my final entry.
