I've posted this in the 3d Stills section but no one has replied there, so thought I would try here as im looking for comments/help

First time I really attempted to do a proper interior render.

Maya + Mental Ray.

Some issues I might need help with

1) Window Glass - How do I add a texture to the glass, rather than just having a plain glass window?

2) Rug on the floor needs a shader/texture, any ideas ?

3) Shower glass on the far left is very dark, should be clear ?

4) Still lots of GI photon dots everywhere. Do you increase the Radius in Reder Globals to cure this ?

5) Curtains should be a creamy colour but they always come out black ?

Feel free to comment and offer help, this is learning curve for me.

Using GI only is very outdated

I would concentrate on getting the lighting better before anything else. You can read through this thread. It's very detailed, but might be a bit much if you are just starting out.

Well had another go last night, I think is looking better.

Lightset up is
1 Directional light for the sun with a mib_cie_d asigned to the colour set at 6500
1 Area light outside the window emitting photons for GI and final Gather
