This is an environment I made for my demo reel. It was made in 3DS Max 5; textures done in Photoshop.
Here are some links to more renders:

Looking pretty good there. Although it doesn't look like any botanical lab I've ever been in (recently finished my botany degree), I imagine it's the futuristic lab of some derranged botany professor, trying to rule the world with his genetically engineered killer trees......or somthing like that, right?
But seriously, I think the trees could do with a little work - the branches seem a little bit too curvey, they might look better if they were a little more gnarled. Also, botanists (at least the ones I know) are a bunch of dirty hippy bastards  , there should maybe be a few dirty lab coats, test tubes etc. just general messyness. Now, put a few empty bottles of cheap cider in the corner and you'd be spot on!

Thanks for the comments.
Finkster:: Pretty cool to have an actual botanist comment on my enviroment. I agree with you about the trees. Modeling the trees turned out to be more of a task than I had originally planned. It took a while to find a good balance between efficiency, a reasonable poly count, and still have them be presentable.
