FXWARS! Winter Kingdom, Martin Romero, Freeform Entry
I have be wanting to do a project where map painting as well as camera mapping.
I am working on a sequence of establishing shots, the one below it's my first one.
I created the mountains in 3Ds max 2009 and I did some basic procedural texturing then,
I also used photographs and combined them all together. I combined two different skies
and tweaked their colors in Photoshop. For this shot, I created two particles systems,
the one for the blizzard and the one for the Myst.
For the FINAL SHOT when we see the "Castle", I am not sure at this point if I'll be working with camera projection/ matte painting techniques or the actual modeling/texturing and lighting so we'll see what happens a little by little.
Good luck to everyone and Happy New Year.
Ok, that's it for now. I need to catch a plane. I am going for a week vacation to Mexico/ mazatlan. I'll be back in San Francisco on the 4th, later guys .

Look good so far.
The motion blur on the snow isn't right. It has a hot spot in the middle. I'm guessing you used image motion blur. Which can cause these kinds of rendering artifacts.

That looks good.
I noticed the snow isn't tracking the motion of the camera correctly.

Very nice lighting. The depth of field seems to make this look like a miniature though.
