trying to get my head around this spline/surface modifier(3dsmax lingo) modelling tecniq that some seem to preffer doing car models, question is, is it really a option doing it with spline/surface trying to get a fair low poly car(less than 10'triangels)? the example tuts i've seen seems to produce tris in the range 50-100k.
I've started two scenes, one with good old poly and deviding where it needs more defenition, the other with spline/surface, so far the box model is going a bit better than the spline, although i can begin to see the advantages with spline/surface with it's better "flowing" body lines and clean edge loops. How do all u pro's out there go about doing a reasonable low poly car etc model? any pointers to tuts or tips tricks highly apprecieated
