I´d like to see a back view, a shader-wireframe render perhaps. Yeah, that would be cool. The wireframe is very clean, have you used metaweezles?

05 May 2002, 02:49 PM
LOL!! Henry does it again!! Very nice henry, your textures need some work though, and there's something wrong with her mouth...i don't know why, maybe the texture.

05 May 2002, 02:57 PM
I used your tutorial and finally came up with this;

It's made in lightwave using the "cube" tool, hair was created using some plugin, background image was designed in paint 5.0 and the final compositioning was done in photoshop using the "noise" filter. It took me about 13 months to complete it and the rendering was done within 8 days.

Animation coming up soon.

05 May 2002, 04:18 PM

Her neck is too spectacular! Fix it! ;)

05 May 2002, 09:08 AM
I tried the add-on to Instant Celeb - Instant Boyband. This product is still in an early alpha state, so maybe that's why I've been having trouble with it. :hmm:
I've tried creating the Backstreet boys, but I can't seem to get it right - the ears end up too large, and they are all covered in black fur. (Although I must say the built-in fur/hair-system in IC is excellent!!)
Also this image is done using MAXs standard scanline renderer.

I'll be very happy to get som C&C on this image. :)

06 June 2002, 12:49 PM
Great! Britney is the best!

this is not funny. What's funny about it? This site is becoming more and more a dufus hangout. Which is too bad, as such, it will probably suffer so.

06 June 2002, 08:31 AM
Realy funny as a character "modeling" attempt, i loved the tutorial!
Allthough this raises a big question of how many people with a cheap digital camera, just take a picture of a face, throw it on a wireframe model, adjust the UVs a bit, then render it with a litle depth of field to avoid showing the texture streching.... THIS SUCKS! And i'm afraid that works of this kind have made it few times to cgchannel's frontpage. And i'm not talking about the joke that started this thread of course. I'm talking about intstant characters and instant "artists". A digital camera doesn't make you an artist. A lot of hard work and practice and a talent that you either have or you don't, make you an artist. I hope that most of you understand what i mean...

06 June 2002, 09:23 AM
Okay! You should all be shot for posting in the first place!

That includes me for posting. Yes, i know this.

Give love a chance at peacing out. Happy thoughts!:surprised

I really think you're overreacting bud, this is the first time ever something like this was posted on cgchannel, just take it with a grain of salt, I find it midly amusing tho not side splitting funny, just take a lil breather, and a "dufus" hangout I hardly think not ;)

06 June 2002, 10:46 AM
hehe, great start in the morning :) (12:45)
swedes are everywhere :)

i liked the wireframe and progress pic the best, you could really see how he modeled it and the progress/tutorial pic was great cause now maybe i can create an instant celebrity on my own(i know its hard cause they have so many expression ;P) ;)

06 June 2002, 02:35 PM
damn it 3D 3D 3D.......

Dude! Lighten up!

I'm a Christian, and i'm not offended. Some things just need to be taken with a grain of salt, and let go! Fun is fun, and all things can be taken the wrong way. Conversly, all things can be taken the right way.

However, by posting your opinion to this forum, aren't you just adding to the flame? :lightbulb

I thought the joke was funny. but what i think is even funnier is how people complain about the existance of the joke. CGchannel and cgtalk are free you know... I'm happy with it them regardless..

It reminds me of the cartoon in the paper a few days ago:

dad walks up to kid at computer, who is reading a website complaining:
dad: so let me get this straight, you're angry at the webmasters
dad: because they offer you a free service in the form of a webpage for your viewing enjoyment
dad:and they won't update it every hour..?
son:YEAH! It ticks me off
Dad:why should they have to update every hour?
son:because they owe it to me!

that's sorta relevant....

07 July 2002, 03:16 PM
I think I will quite possibly cherish this site as the pinnacle of cg work and downright mirth!

07 July 2002, 03:52 PM
cool will it also be awailable for the TMBB fantastic thread (

07 July 2002, 09:40 PM
Funny how a little joke can turn on some hot fire sometimes...
I didn't say that... no ! just kidding... don't hit me :(

well anyway it's always fun to "watch" a meaningless fight.
have fun all

07 July 2002, 12:57 AM

p.s. To everyone being a bitch: Please remove the sand from your vagina.Thanks.
