View Full Version : Using clusters to break up a mesh...

I have one terrain mesh created in XSI 6.5 that has 40 clusters. What I would like to do is bring it into Modo 3.02 and assign UV maps as well as texture each cluster. It would be great if I could import the one mesh into Modo, and use XSI clusters to UV/texture each. But since I have no idea how to do that, how can I break up the mesh by selecting all the clusters in XSI to export it to Modo?

XSI has lwo exporter using Pointoven. No need to assign polygonal clusters in XSI. Export the mesh directly and using MODO to define clusters using Material, or assign multiple UVs in Modo, then save as lwo and directly import to xsi, the Materials will automatically become polygonal clusters, and UV preserved.

assign UVs is much more easy in MODO as it is a almost automatically done (Unwarp), just define edges, see help docs.
