View Full Version : Turning Skin Weights list into a selection set

I have a question and I hope someone knows of a way to do this. I need to turn the skin weights list into a selection set of joints so I can bind alternate geometry to the exact same list.

Is there a Mel command to select a object that has skin weighting and then generate the list of joints in the weight set and then use that list to make a selection set?

Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

first dump all the influence objects into an array:

string $joints[] = `skinCluster -q -inf`;

and then just select them.
