Hi there
Recently when I was making usually Reverse Foot Lock(RFL) in Maya I came up with this RFL setup's idea, so now you can see that.

I got some ideas from Jason Shcleifer's DVD RFL setup, and from Mikhail Bazhutkin's RFL setup...I ended up in combing of ideas , I am trying make foot roll more simple to control
for animators. There are no expressions. RFL Setup uses only Maya standard nodes.

Of course setup it is not perfect. So I asking you to test it and give me all your emotions and ideas/critique you have. May be something needed to add or ...may be I missed attention to smth? Please tell me :D

Get it here (

P.S. Please mention that it is not final leg rig so I deleted all what I thought here would be unnecessary to test RFL setup.
P.P.S. Sorry for my english:rolleyes: Feel free to answer

Well ... itīs a nice thought to connect the footroll and side2side actions to the rotation handles, but personally I would hate to have 2 different controllers to manipulate each foot. Especially when you have the toe wiggle on one controller and the roll++ on the other, at least put them together so that one controller has all the extra attributes and the other the regular translate and rotate.

Maybe itīs just me, but I really like to have everything on the same controllers for the feet, donīt see the need to have another one

Just some thought after 10 minuters of testing. The node-setup looks nice though!

What I would really really like to see in a foot-setup is a system that keeps the pivot at the correct place(the ankle) all the time, no matter what value of roll or side2side the animator has. Guess itīs not possible in Maya today, or is it .... ?
