View Full Version : Wings3d (NOT Maya, LW, max, etc.) + MB

I have heard that some people are having problems getting their Wings3d models into MB. I'm assuming this will be fixed if/when Wings3d gets FBX support, but I don't want to spend my hard-earned cash until I know I'll be able to use just MB & Wings (iow, not Maya, LW, max, etc.) for character animation & lipsynching. Any idea as to when this will be possible?

bjorn is currently working on a FBX plugin for wings (release date: unknown)

kaydara is currently working on FBX converters for 3ds, obj, and dxf (release date: soon.. I hope)

I can't wait!

you can get a 1 year license of MB for the cost of the June 2003 issue of DIGIT magazine. that's 13 dollars or so.

you could learn the software in the meantime for a whole year. it's not like the character animation knowledge you aquire in MB can't be used in other applications if it turns out that MB doesn't fit in your pipeline.
