Once again another death cycle...trying to finish this up asap!!! all advice and comments welcome...

hi Robski,

This is looking good. I just mentioned this on a different animation but I think it applies here too. I think you can add some more "successive breaking of joints" to the arms as they fly back. Have the wrists and fingers pointing more in the direction they are coming from and as the forearm hits the wrist flips back, then once the wrist hits the point it will not rotate back anymore the fingers do the same. Might just loosen the arms up some.

Also you may want to adjust the fingers on his left hand as it flies back and put them in a more appealing pose. They kind of have the Rake shape right now. And it may be worth it to pup a little arc in the gun barrel as he goes from screen right to screen left at the start. I think that will give it some more weight.

Hey Wilson 3d,

Thanks for the advice and i will be sure to add the adjustments as i progress forward with this cycle...I should be adding a revised version soon

and Jon Jones..I intended the hit to come from the front left if your looking at it, but that would be the soldiers front right...make sense...

and maybe you guys can check this other one out as well, let me know what you think..

Hi Robski,

Here are some comments on the second one where he is falling back.
First off I think it is looking good. You have the arc on the gun barrel on this one but the gun "hits a wall" when it stops. I think it could add to it to never have it actually stop moving. Just really ease at the end until he drops the gun. Actually now that I am watching it more I think the entire body hits the wall. You may want to keep the entire body moving into a slow in just before the gets hit. Also you may want to give the right foot more hang time. It looks like you have the feet coming down at different times now but you could keep it in the air longer and maybe have give it like three or four frames around 55 to ease out of that. You may want to adjust the left arm so it is more in the air as the back hits and the hit starts to rotate around the shoulder and down. Right now it looks like it hits at the same time the back does. The back would hit while it is still in the air and then it would start to fall. Hope that helps some.

Hi Robski,

Your latest one is coming up as Private so I can't see it. The one before that looks a lot better. Nice work. You can really see and feel the overlap on the right wrist as he hits the ground. Sure adds a lot more weight to it.

It looks pretty solid so far. Just a few things stuck out in my eyes...

I think you should have his left arm swing around more. Right now it leaves the gun and just kind of drifts backwards. Maybe just have it swing 3/4+ the way around to really show the impact of the bullet. Is it a head shot or torso? If he is getting shot in the torso maybe put a bit more twist in his upper body as well. You could probably push the pose of him arching back more, really bring out the impact of the bullet there. I think the gun should fall a little faster as well, seems very floaty right now.

Nice work. It has a lot more weight and I think you did a nice job getting the successive breaking of joints working for you. I agree with kgaulin's crit and also think it is looking solid.
