View Full Version : help: create polygon out of points

mmmhhh...i've got to admit that i don't know mel at all...while modeling with my trusty ple edition i came to the point where i was used (in LW) to just select 4 points and click on 'create polygon' and...hey...it was there ;)....tools like 'make hole' and 'append to polygon' just don't fit my needs...therefor i'm interested in recreating that nice lw tool....can anyone point me into the direction where to look for something like this...if it's there as a script i'll take it gladly or can anyone point out what functions to use?

i would post what this tool in LW does exactly "pic", to me it just sounsd like fill hole.

well you pic any number of points and when you click on 'make polygon' it just creates a polygon out of those marked points.....i've played around some time with make hole/append to polygon but they seem too uneffective if you just want to fast create a poly

polyCreateFacet -p 0 0 0 -p 10 0 0 -p 10 10 0 -p 0 10 0;
//add a new triangular facet described by the edge #0, and a free point
polyAppend -ed 0 -p 5 -5 0;
...taken from the MEL docs.
BTW, your Avatar is scaarrrrrrrry! :surprised
