Does anyone know of a script that will do like what the inset tool in wings 3d does , but in maya? that tool is indispencable!

Never worked with Wings3d,
What does that tool exactly do ?

i dont know the technical term for what it does, its like this
select a face, it will do like a opposite extrude face, so it extrudes intowards the center of the face but unlike maya it uses the faces normals im guess, casue its still flat just like the face

Maybe Your example is not clear enough (for me).
But i did the same thing with an extrude and got the same result like you did

it creates 5 polys inside one. or to be more specific, it scales down the edges while keeping poly's. been a while since i used maya, but i believe there is a tool in there that does does the same thing

Still not so clear,
sounds like a preset for the extrude tool for me
