View Full Version : cmuscle or cssmuscle?

hi all,

i feel like it's a good time to start learning a muscle system. on highend3d there's a free plugin called 'cssmuscle', and apparently cmuscle will be part of maya 2009. I was just wondering if anyone has tried using both, or either one, and thinks one is better to start using than the other?

also, this might be of interest to some folks here.. i just found a site with some great muscle animations--it's great to see what is happening under the skin like this.

CMuscle has been apart of maya since 2008 ext. 2. I've used Comet's Muscle system before he sold it to Autodesk and I've used the integration into 2008, its exactly the same. I like it a lot. if you need true muscle sim. its and excellent start. otherwise you can learn some tricks to fake it.

I have to agree with mberglund. It's a good start to learn how it works. Maya 2008 ext. 2 a little bit more complicated than cmuscle, but it's not hard to learn. sounds like cmuscle is the way to go then.. guess i'll start learning how to use that. :)

there is a "cMuscle"-DVD on Digital-Tutors which explains the basics - although the more advanced muscle-stuff ( such as self-Colliding muscles ) is not shown ... but i guess that always needs some experimenting and testing .... one tip for the start : just use "a few" muscles :)
