View Full Version : Simple BONES rig, need help (3ds MAX)

I'm rigging a whale with a 6 boned chain. I only need the bones to be affected by each other when rotating them, with a slight fall off, like a bend link. Whats the easiest way to this ?

Can you do with a solver, or do I need to do an expression ?

You can use a simple FK chain, or using a Spline-IK would be a fast way too. even you
can rig in a way that behaves automaticly regarding to the time slider , you can use some
bones and with some equations that they deal with time slider add some rotation offsets or whatever you want.

Several ways to do so.

Easiest wasy to setup would be parameter wiring, expressions or script controllers would be more elegant, but require a bit more work than point and click.
