When: Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 7pm to 9pm
Where: BAE Systems, 8201 Greensboro Drive, Suite 1200, McLean, VA 22102
What makes a good web page design? Should I create a Flash introduction or make the whole site using Flash? Which looks better – black text on a white background or white text on a black background? What’s a good use of color? What about interactivity and the “three click rule”? What are examples of good web pages? What are examples of things to avoid?
DC_SIGGRAPH will discuss these questions and more on Tuesday, October 21st from 7 to 9pm at BAE Systems. BAE is located at 8201 Greensboro Drive, Suite 1200, McLean, VA 22102.
Everyone has their own opinion about what makes a good web page design. For some people, it’s the simplicity of the site; for others, it’s the layout, look and feel; still others like the newest bells and whistles incorporated into the site. For practically everyone, it’s about finding the information you’re looking for on the site. DC_SIGGRAPH invites you to submit your links to your favorite and least favorite web sites for discussion about what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to web page design.
Send your links to email@example.com (http://firstname.lastname@example.org). Please send your links as soon as possible – some sites may be blocked by BAE and we want to test the links in advance. (Please do not send links to improper, unprofessional or offensive websites.)
Light refreshments will be served. Directly following our discussion, the conversation will continue at the hotel next door.
Please RSVP to email@example.com (http://firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can plan for refreshments.
Hope to see you there!
