View Full Version : Contstrain Curve using ArcLength

Does anyone know how to set a fixed length for a curve. I am thinking it might have to involve the arclength command but could but there might be an easier way.

In case anyone was wondering I just found this unusual feature in maya to help lock the length of the curve. If you have the curve selected hit the "L" key and a lock length attribute appears in the attribute editor.

What about using arcLen without the constrction history ?

the command for locking the arc length is

setCurveLengthLock 1; // locks the curve
setCurveLengthLock 0; //unlocks the curve

You can look up that command in the docs to see exactly how to use it. In this case, I just selected the curve, and typed the command in the command line.
