the link is to my deviant art gallery. That is where a flash of my walk cycle is being hosted. Please take a look. critiques are my goal here.

generally its pretty good, the hair sort of freaks me out though.
I think the biggest thing i notice is that there's almost no spine movement on anything other than the Y(z) plane where its just twisting side to side.
Its not just for cartoons, real humans bounce a little when they move too.
Also for being a woman, the hips don't move at all, just the leg joints.
Some minor tweaks to make it shine :)

There is movement, but yeah I will make the movements bigger. I made the spine a-little stiff because of the armor (I now wish she had no armor and was more limber for ease of animation). I will add more movement to the spine. Thnx for the suggestions.

I think the hips need to swing a bit more in opposition to the swing going on with the shoulders

hey, Its hard to say too much with just the 3/4 view but I think you need to move the feet in under the body while its in contact with the ground and move the hips over the supporting leg a bit at the passing position. you could have some forward and backward rotation starting from the hips and overlapping up the body through the neck and head
look here for an example, its not perfect but it has, I think, most if not all of the movements going on that you would need in a walk.
Also the hands are looking a little prosthetic at the moment so try to loosen them up and make them feel more like they are being affected by the movement of the arms.
There's a hell of a lot of things going on in a walk, more than what's been covered in this thread so keep at it.
The goal eventually should be to fully understand the weight and physics involved in a walk, not to memorise the process of putting a walk together, but when you think of it that way its really quite an advanced thing to master. I've reverted to bouncing balls, swingin pendulums and waving bits of weed since I realised what it takes to understand a walk, I plan on going back to walks later when I can apply what I have learned about timing and weight.

It's a good idea to run through them all to boost your understanding or animation principals then come back to walks, but don't copy his animation, just use it as a guide to what you should be practicing, since his animation isn't always that well done.

All of your suggestions were helpful. I made a new WIP http://mr-nym.deviantart.com/art/new-walk-cycle-100289630. Since I posted this I have worked on the feet to make them a-little more "sticky".

Definately starting to look looser! cool.
If you get a chance to get hold of this,
it gives you a great idea about whats needed in a walk and where it should be happening, although the movement is done in layers and splined, and I think that animation mentor teaches people to block in walks, stepped. I've read other people recomending this too. But either way, it shows you what you need to put in, you can refine your process later.
