Started a double thread as I didn't saw the subforum directly, really sorry for this.
Hope the other one I started in " WIP/Critique: 2D, Illustrations and Concept Art (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=31)" can be taken out.
Well my ancient sketchbook has been closed, so I'll start a new one here.
Which mean's by the way that I've been gone way too long here.:-)
(already spanked myself:D)
I'll start with this one, a speed I did this morning in for about 1h30 in PS2.
In fact together with some fellow-artists were starting up our own studio to respond to all kinda outsourcing and art-relatd commisions for cinema & videogames which will be called Skymonkey studio.
I really got inspired by this and this is what came up.hope you like it and C&C very welcom!
A pandamonkey:-) :
best regards fellows!

Really Nice image. I like the lighting and the colored shadows. The additional figure is nice as well, it tells a story and you know how big that creature is. I'm not so happy with the integration of the face, it looks like an other part which does not belong to the rest. Anyway I still like the image. Go on...

This is a concept I did for creatures I would like to use in one of my next illustrations.
Still not a 100% convinced by their legs and would still like to try other possibilities.
C&C very welcom.
It are some kinda vampire guardian dogs for rich evil man.
Very faithful to their masters but very, very difficult to dress it impresses a lot other living beings if you have one.
Being vampirelike creatures they're capable of smelling blood(even al warm inside your body)from far.
As most of vampirelike creatures, one of the ways to kill them is to pierce the heart with a wooden stick.(or was it a silfer one?)
That's why the central part of the body is so well protected.
These protections and the materials used to make them shows very well the financial health of his owner aswell as his importance.
Their legs are often used to open the victims thorax, so they can eat the heart directly.
They've got a funny, almost ridicilous way of moving around..very jumperly, almost kangaroo like.http://www.imaginia.be/remkootje/doberlarv3.jpg

Hi Remko, great to have you back!
Your own studio huh? Wow!!
Looks like you'll been having a blast...
It looks a bit as if the hearteater's clawfeet won't be able to carry it's weight. Perhaps it's anckles should be a bit more "solid"?
Really diggin that T-rex as well
Amazing work buddy :bounce:

Sweet! I like the subtle tilte to the first compostion, without it, it would be sort of stactic and centered. With it, though, it's very appealing. Cool stuff!
