Hey Silmarillion, looks really great! Very good anatomy I also think.
On the bottom picture it looks like there is tension in his arms, so I think that the muscles on the chest would be showing more from underneath the skin in that pose.

04-27-2002, 07:26 AM
Wow, that's amazing. And they are animatable?

Rivendale, what's that eyacky thing on your signature?

04-27-2002, 07:39 AM
They look a bit plasticy like he-man action figures, other then that they are very nice. :suprised:

04-27-2002, 08:42 AM
Hey great work man, - really nice - lots of character to it
Only small problem i have is with the thickness in the wrist/palm region - it seems most prominent in the first picture where his hand is leaning on the door.
Or perhaps thats just part of u're character design - but it kinda stands out cos every thing else is so damn good
Keep 'em comin pardner !

04-27-2002, 08:59 AM
I was trying to find a problem with the model but nope.

Oh wait. The bellybutton. lol
I would love to see his eyes, and some radical facial expression.

Great work
:buttrock: Rock on :airguitar

Hey im on cgchannel Thank you ali :) ;) ;)

Thank you guys one by one :)

I dint work much on the pose for cylophen though , and he is kind looking kind of funny in this pose :)

The meshes are animatbale , but i dint make any character animations before :( , but i m planing to start on simpler characters those two are poly monsters :)

i wanna give a quik info on my modelling , I use lightwave 3d. I dont use box modelling , i start with a face and start making other faces using extender in lightwave. For the faces i model the nose , ears, eyes differently then join them , its kind of annoying sometimes. As for teh body i first finish the face then i model the body from there in one combo this time.

there i put a wire shade of the cylophen

wire shot (http://www.3dluvr.com/mindwork/cylophwire.jpg)

,and you can find more shots of these two in here.

04-27-2002, 07:17 PM
Looks absolutely great man

04-27-2002, 07:53 PM
Hey, Great Work, Silmarillion. One thing though. I've been studying hands and feet on a figure drawing/construction class and our professor help us simplify the hand into its'very basic shapes, starting by sculpting the palm (a simple, curved box) and then adding the nuckle pad (on the inside) and the thenar and hypothernar eminences (sounds strange, but those are supposed to be the names of the sides of the palm). Your hand model looks great but seems to be missing the hypothenar eminence. Check out these pictures of a simplified hand model sculpted by Paul Hudson (my teacher...he's a genius, btw:) Anyway, great work, keep it up.

Sorry for the crappy illustration, but you get the point...

BTW, were you using a specific work of Brom as reference for this? I'd love to see his version too.

04-28-2002, 09:29 PM
Silmarillion ,very nice work indeed!!! The anatomy of your characters has been very carefully built and the result is amazing!I just love the energy that comes from the them, really intense!!! I did expect a different lighting and environment though, something a bit more sensual, since your characters have such life. Still really beautiful work :bounce:
Hope to see more of it soon!!!
