There is a reason reposting THIS TOPIC.
This WILL BE the next topic for the FXWARS challenge...
The best cars will be turned into 3D models
And the people will be able to pick from the sketches in this thread..
So if you want to contribute a design you have about 2 weeks!
Imagine you have been commisioned to concept art for a new film called
"The Flying Car"
These are the rules:
You have NO TIME LIMIT for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
NEW RULE: You may also re-post a copy of your finished drawing a this forum:

Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)

Wexter, thanks a lot! Yeah, it looks like "back to the future" car, but my hand draw that piece by itself:) I could do nothing!

Okay it's a bus but anyway ^^ it flies hehe..
Hope you like it ! ...something like 5 h (it's a composition from old VW.busses,a ME-262 and the rest id did with the board)

"Flying car", maybe 1 hour in Photoshop. Half digital drawing, half matte painting, to calm you artistic alertness guys ;-) I used some resources to create this image, but I cannot see anything against rules, so I guess its fine. BTW, much quiker way to create concepts then doing everything by hand.

There was no reference or resources used for these drawings but opposite to usual practice, I started with using 3D and then turned it into illustration like drawings. I modeled a rough 3D car shape without any details and checked if the engines can be positioned and moved the way I imagine. Then I used the 3D rendering as a start and painted over the details and the backgrounds. Finally I used the poster edges effect in PS to make it look like this illustrative style. I spent most of the last Sunday and a couple of hours today for everyting including the 3D work.
