View Full Version : Creating tree with PF

i am making some pines for mid distance view.
Trunk and branches are made with onyx software.
On the smaller branches, i am placing PF shape facing planes with diffuse and opacity.

My question is this: since im making the planes looking at the camera, i can rotate the supporting geometry (trunk, etc) to get some variation.
But i want to use different materials for the central part of the tree and for the particles on the viewing edges. Also, the top ones would be nice to use other material too.

Hope the drawing attached clarifies this a bit.

I still want to be able to rotate the geometry looking for variation, but want to automatic recognize witch material to use based on camera alignment relation.

Any idea would be appreciated since im no expert in PF.
