View Full Version : Mirror Skin Weight, Problem at the Middle

I have a very annoying problem with mirroring skinning across axises, for instance, when mirroring the skin weight at the very edge of the character, say +X, I get an unknown problem with the intersecting vertexes .. and I can say , I never get a clean result in these areas .. so I need spread the legs away and do skinning on both parts simultaneously...

I should mention that I use Skinny, a Mel driven skinning tool bye Asi Sudai,

anyway, any chance to get rid of mirroring issue with mirror skin weight ???

You can't mirror skin weight across joints lying exactly at x,y,z = 0 which ever your mirror axis is, so you need to offset the joint placements a bit say x,y,z = 0.1...
