this isnt realy a finished work or a work in progress just a shader i was making for a freind to llok something like the ghost in ff thought id post it here as i havent posted in a while

nice!!! doesn't look that complicated (i imagine you used an incidence angle gradient, hey?), but still, nice. It needs complements though, like adding a glow, some more variations in the color, perhaps some fire-ish texture....

The shader is just fine as it is right now... folks, remember that all the variation on the color in FF was because the gosts had inner organs and bones as well, don't forget that. If I would do any change it would be to go a little bit more to the red and no so yellow.

(I have FF on DVD and saw it about 10 times so far :bounce: )

wow!!! guys! take it slowly, it's just an incidence angle gradient on transparency and luminosity (no offence cerreto, it looks pretty darn nice)!!! Free to take? It's like, LW texturing, end of it. Hmmm, perhaps i should show you what I have done with LW....:)

I love texturing in that proggie..:D, very versatile.
This is something done completely in LW, only with the procedurals that come with it, since version 6.5 (or even 6) -sorry about the antialising, i'm a bit in a hurry-

Could it be possible that it's max with using falloff as the opacity-map ?

i'm pretty sure it was.....btw, ignore my little image (it served it purpose better as a part of an image, this close-up thing won't do)
