The Challenge:

We’ve all seen Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. We all appreciate its technical genius! Im sure we all love Dr Aki Ross (of course, that has nothing to do with the challenge). To start the VFXChallenges, we are going with a short sequence recreation. The reference file (downloadable from ( is when Aki has the dream of a planet blowing up…and it looks absolutely mind blowing. This will be a reasonably challenging way to start these monthly festivities!!

Do your best to recreate/simulate the sequence using only 2D elements! You may even go so far as to elaborate upon it…We'll leave it to your imagination, and skills.
