View Full Version : Huge Arm constraint Problem

Im hoping someone can help me out here

what i have is a guy pullning a swor dout of a stone, but i want the hands to stay locked (and not move) to the sword whiule the rest of his body moves back and forth.

hes all IK'ed up and such

but right now the hands dont stay put while the body moves
they rotate and such

im trying to make them stay perfectly still
like the guys pulling the sword

any ideas how to do this

1. Parent your IK to a locator
2. orient constraint the bone where the IK sits to the locator
3. Test result

PS: IK solves position not orientation

You also need a locator or something to make a Pole Vector for each of the elbows.
I recommend making a locator for the Ik handle. and point constrain the IK to the locator. Then another locator for the Pole Vector constraint. Then you can hide the IK handle and only use the translations of the Locators to drive the arms.
